Seminar summary
A regulatory offense or quasi-criminal offense is a class of crime in which the standard for proving culpability has been lowered, so a mens rea (Latin for "guilty mind") element is not required. All offenses outside of the Criminal Code that are not defined as indictable are deemed to be summary offenses. Circumstances do exist when a regulatory offense or quasi-criminal offense may become serious, with collateral consequences on Immigration status.
This educational seminar will cover the summary of a regulatory offense or quasi-criminal offense and when it falls under Immigration related consequences and other related circumstances.
