Private Investigator and Security Services Certificate
A short, full-time certificate that introduces the theory of private investigation for learners interested in investigative and enforcement careers. Canadian Career Education College (CCEC) delivers the program in English.

Admission Requirements
Academic Requirement
Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) or equivalent, or Mature Student Status. See Domestic Admission Requirements and International Admission Requirements.
Mature Student Status
An applicant who does not have an OSSD or equivalent may be admitted as a mature student if the applicant is 18 years of age or older and passes a qualifying test approved by the Superintendent of Career Colleges (Ontario Regulation 415/06, section 19). See Mature Student Status.

Delivery and Enrolment
Domestic Students
Canadian citizens and permanent residents study in class at the Vaughan campus. No internship or placement is required.
International Students
This program is delivered in class only. Because this program runs less than six months, visitors and temporary residents in Canada may take it without a study permit or a Provincial Attestation Letter (PAL), provided their current status allows short-term study.

Important Information
- This program has been “Approved as a vocational program under the Ontario Career Colleges Act, 2005.”
- In Ontario, private investigators must be licensed under the Private Security and Investigative Services Act, 2005. Licensing includes ministry-approved basic training and a ministry test. Check the current requirements on ontario.ca.
- CCEC does not guarantee employment, job placement, or salary. Meeting the minimum admission requirements does not guarantee admission.
