    Admission Requirements: CPD 

    Since this course is designed to up-skill active professionals, we value your real-world experience just as much as a traditional diploma. You can meet our admission requirements through any one of the following options:

    Option 1: The Mature Student Assessment (MSA)

    • What it is: A straightforward, foundational assessment designed to ensure you have the basic English and Math skills needed to succeed in the coursework.

    • How it works: You can complete this assessment online or in person at our Vaughan campus. Remember, Can-college has no age limit for this program!


    Option 2: Professional Experience (Resume Review)

    • What it is: Recognizing your time spent working in the field.

    • How it works: Submit a current resume detailing your work history in the trades (electrical, HVAC, plumbing), IT, construction, or facility management. If you are already working in a related technical field, this experience can waive the standard high school diploma requirement.


    Option 3: International Credentials

    • What it is: Acknowledging the education you completed outside of Canada.

    • How it works: If you are an internationally trained professional, simply provide a copy of your foreign diploma, degree, or trades certification. We will review it in-house to ensure it meets our baseline admission standards.


    General Requirements (All Applicants):

    • Language Proficiency: As the course involves technical terminology and AI software navigation, a functional understanding of the English language (reading and writing) is required.

    • Technology Access: For students choosing the 100% online delivery, a reliable internet connection and a computer/tablet are required to access the AI reporting tools and course materials.


    *For international students, this program does not require a PAL or a study permit. You don't need a study permit in Canada for short programs (under 6 months) or distance learning.

    How to Enroll: 4 Simple Steps

    We value your time as a working professional. Our admission process for the Smart Building Technologies & AI Integration CPD course is streamlined so you can start upskilling immediately.

    Step 2: Submit Your Documents

    • Upload your proof of foundational education.

    • International & Current Professionals: We also recommend submitting a brief resume or summary of your trades/tech experience to help our instructors tailor the AI and networking examples to your background.


    Step 3: Secure Your Spot & Pay Tuition

    • Once your application is reviewed (usually within 1-2 business days), you will receive a registration link. Complete your enrollment by paying the affordable $300 - $500 CAD tuition fee via our secure payment system/methods.


    Step 4: Get Connected to our CCEC LMS and Start Learning!

    • Receive your login credentials for our online learning portal or your welcome package for the Vaughan campus, and dive right straight into the future of smart building technology.

    How to Choose

           Goal: Decide if you need basic home knowledge or entry-level trade skills.

           Formats: 100% Online, Hybrid, or In-Person.

          In-person. From our campus in Vaughan, Ontario. In-person instructor-led classes with hands-on labs and practical training.

          Hybrid is a mix of online and in-person attendance.

          100% Online, is self-paced, instructor-led—no in-person attendance required. Our self-directed online classes use a learning management system (LMS) and offer real-time online teacher support. Complete details/tutorial about the LMS and program delivery will be available to all students before the program starts.


    Exams and assessments:

           Regardless of your selected format, all written exams are 100% online and open-book.

           The training part, which requires hands-on or practical assessment, depends on the format.

    If you have selected 100% online format, practical will be completed by way of online instructor-monitored/directed assessments
