Appliance Servicing Fundamentals Program

Our Appliance Servicing Fundamentals Program is a short-term, skills-focused certification designed to introduce learners to the core principles, tools, and techniques for diagnosing, servicing, and maintaining common household appliances. The program emphasizes practical, hands-on learning and foundational technical knowledge required for entry-level appliance service and repair roles.

Learners gain exposure to electrical and mechanical components, appliance safety, troubleshooting methods, and basic repair procedures for major household appliances, including refrigerators, ranges, dishwashers, washers, and dryers.

             **Program-1 Duration. Hours: 30 – in 2-4 weeks, depending upon full-time or part-time.      

            ** Program 2 Duration. Hours: 40 - in 3-6 weeks, depending upon full-time or part-time.        


    P1- Fee: $699, including textbooks/notes.

    P-2Fee: $990,

    + practical materials fee of $250 if applicable.

    This program is open to all domestic and *international students.

    A domestic student is a citizen, permanent resident, or has protected status in the country where they are studying.

    • Safely disassemble and reassemble appliance components

    • Replace common parts such as switches, motors, belts, and sensors

    Apply Safety and Industry Standards

    • Follow electrical and workplace safety procedures

    • Use proper tools and personal protective equipment (PPE)

    • Understand customer safety, liability, and basic service professionalism

    How to Choose

           Goal: Decide if you need basic home knowledge or entry-level trade skills.

           Formats: 100% Online, Hybrid, or In-Person.

          In-person: From our campus in Vaughan, Ontario. In-person instructor-led classes with hands-on labs and practical training.

          Hybrid is a mix of online and in-person attendance.

          100% Online, is self-paced, instructor-led—no in-person attendance required. Our self-directed online classes use a learning management system (LMS) and offer real-time online teacher support. Complete details/tutorial about the LMS and program delivery will be available to all students before the program starts.

    Exams and assessments:

           Regardless of your selected format, all written exams are 100% online and open-book.

           The training part, which requires hands-on or practical assessment, depends on the format.

    If you have selected 100% online format, practical will be completed by way of online instructor-monitored/directed assessments

    ***Additional Education-Related Admission Option 

    If a prospective student does not have a grade 12 education certificate which is equivalent to a Canadian secondary school certificate due to any reason, the college will still consider the student for admission to its programs if the student passes a qualifying test that has been approved by the Superintendent (The Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities Ontario).
    What qualifies you as a mature student?
