Admission to Can-college is designed to be accessible for both young professionals and mature career-changers:

• Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) or equivalent; OR

• Mature Student Assessment (MSA): For applicants 19 years of age or older who do not have a high school diploma.***

• Prerequisite: A prior certificate in Personal Support Work (PSW), Nursing (RN/RPN), or at least one year of verified experience in a senior care setting.

• English Proficiency: Since the course is technical and safety-oriented, a functional command of the English language is necessary to understand safety protocols and chemical handling instructions
  

• Note: For 100% online , basic computer literacy is highly recommended due to the technical nature of the AI tools.

*For international students, this program does not require a PAL or a study permit. You don't need a study permit in Canada for short programs (under 6 months) or distance learning.

• Flexible Assessment: Admission via OSSD equivalency or our Mature Student Assessment (MSA).

How to Choose

●       Goal: Decide if you need basic home knowledge or entry-level trade skills.

●       Formats: 100% Online, Hybrid, or In-Person.

✔      In-person. From our campus in Vaughan, Ontario. In-person instructor-led classes with hands-on labs and practical training.

✔      Hybrid is a mix of online and in-person attendance.

✔      100% Online, is self-paced, instructor-led—no in-person attendance required. Our self-directed online classes use a learning management system (LMS) and offer real-time online teacher support. Complete details/tutorial about the LMS and program delivery will be available to all students before the program starts.

Exams and assessments:

●       Regardless of your selected format, all written exams are 100% online and open-book.

●       The training part, which requires hands-on or practical assessment, depends on the format.

If you have selected 100% online format, practical will be completed by way of online instructor-monitored/directed assessments

Educational Purpose & Scope

The Certificate in Neuro-Care and Responsive Behaviour Documentation provided by Can-College is a specialized, short-duration professional training program. While the curriculum is designed to meet high industry standards and focuses on "dash-free" clinical documentation and neuro-care best practices, it is intended for educational and skill-enhancement purposes only.

Professional Status & Licensing

• Not a Degree/Diploma: This program is a Professional Certificate, not a degree, diploma, or a substitute for regulated nursing or medical licensure in Canada.

• Regulatory Compliance: Completion of this course does not automatically grant professional registration with provincial regulatory bodies (e.g., CNO, CLPNA). Students are responsible for verifying how this certificate aligns with the specific requirements of their current or intended regulatory college.

Continued Professional Development (CPD)

This course is structured as Concise Professional Development material. It is designed to provide maximum clinical utility in a condensed timeframe (10–40 hours per module).

• CPD Credits: While the content is designed to meet the criteria for Continued Professional Development (CPD) for healthcare workers, the final acceptance of these hours for credit remains at the sole discretion of the student's professional association or employer.

• Material Updates: Healthcare standards and documentation protocols ("dash-free" standards) may evolve. Can-College makes every effort to provide current information, but students are encouraged to stay updated with their specific workplace policies and provincial healthcare legislation.

Employment & Clinical Application

• No Guarantee of Employment: While this program provides industry-specific skills to enhance employability for newcomers and career changers, Can-College does not guarantee employment or specific salary outcomes upon completion.

• Clinical Judgment: The strategies taught (such as de-escalation and behaviour tracking) are guidelines. They should always be applied in conjunction with workplace protocols and the user’s professional clinical judgment.
