Online mock exams for the five nursing licensing exams used in Canada outside Quebec. Choose your province below, then the exam for your profession: registered nurse, practical nurse, registered psychiatric nurse or nurse practitioner. Every exam has a timed diagnostic, area quizzes with an explanation for every answer, and four full-length timed mock exams built to the exam's published test plan or blueprint. 100% online and self-paced: no lectures and no scheduled sessions. Full Access and the province combo come with the CCEC guarantee: if you do not pass the official exam on your first attempt, you get one further access period at no charge (see Guarantee).
Each province has its own registration page with the exams used there. Pick your province, then choose your exam and access type on its page. Start with the free diagnostic if you want to see where you stand first.

Quebec is not covered (Quebec uses the OIIQ and OIIAQ exams). Territories: register on the page of the province whose exam you are writing and choose Other as your jurisdiction, or ask us through the support form.
To register as a nurse in Canada you must pass the entry-to-practice exam for your profession, as well as meet your provincial regulator's other requirements (for example education, language proficiency, recent practice and a criminal record check). The exam you write depends on your profession and your province:
| Exam | Who writes it | Used in | Official format |
|---|---|---|---|
| NCLEX-RN | Registered nurses (RN) | All nine provinces covered here | Computer adaptive, 85 to 150 questions (15 unscored), up to 5 hours |
| REx-PN | Practical nurses: registered practical nurses (Ontario) and licensed practical nurses (British Columbia) | Ontario and British Columbia | Computer adaptive, 90 to 150 questions (30 unscored), 4 hours |
| CPNRE | Licensed practical nurses (LPN) | Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Newfoundland and Labrador, Prince Edward Island | 160 to 170 multiple-choice questions, 4 hours |
| RPNCE | Registered psychiatric nurses | British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba | 200 multiple-choice questions, 4 hours |
| CNPLE | Nurse practitioners (NP) | Ontario, Manitoba, New Brunswick, and British Columbia from February 2027 | About 180 to 185 multiple-choice questions, 4 hours |
Your regulator decides when you are eligible to write and tells you how to book. Exam fees are paid to the exam provider or regulator, not to CCEC. Quebec uses its own exams (OIIQ and OIIAQ) and is not covered here. Facts checked on regulator and exam provider pages, 31 October to 2 November 2026.
The NCLEX-RN, CPNRE, RPNCE and CNPLE are national or multi-province exams, and the REx-PN is shared by Ontario and British Columbia. Once you are registered in one province, you can usually apply to register in another under labour mobility rules (the Canadian Free Trade Agreement and provincial law) without writing the entry-to-practice exam again. Each regulator still sets its own steps.
Reciprocity applies to full registration you already hold. It does not replace the exam for a first registration. Temporary, provisional or graduate registrations usually do not count.
Everything runs in your browser, on your own schedule. No classes to attend and no travel. Your access email brings your link and code, and you can start the same day you are approved.
Each mock exam follows the published test plan or blueprint of your exam, with the same number of questions or close to it, the same time limit and the same mix of areas. Timed mocks build the stamina for a 4 to 5 hour sitting. All questions are original CCEC questions written to the blueprint; they are not real exam questions.
Full Access and the province combo carry the CCEC guarantee: if you do not pass the official exam on your first attempt, you get one further access period, until your new exam date, at no charge. See Guarantee.

| Component | Details |
|---|---|
| Diagnostic | A timed diagnostic at the real exam pace, one attempt, with a score for each exam area. Free with Free Diagnostic Access, and included in every paid option. |
| Area quizzes | One quiz per exam area, 10 questions drawn at random each time, with an explanation for every answer. Untimed, unlimited attempts during your access period. |
| Mock exams | Four full-length timed mock exams per exam. Pass mark 75% as a CCEC readiness mark. Four attempts each with Standard Access, eight with Full Access. |
| Results | Your score and a breakdown by exam area on screen as soon as you finish each test, with a readiness guide: two mock exams in a row at 80% or higher means you are ready; 75% to 79% means you are building. |
The NCLEX-RN and REx-PN are computer adaptive: the real exam chooses each question based on your earlier answers. CCEC mock exams are fixed length, so they build knowledge and stamina but cannot reproduce adaptive scoring. No regulator publishes a percentage pass mark; 75% is CCEC's readiness mark.

Every nursing exam used in your province, with Full Access.
Eligibility follows your nursing regulator's requirements for the exam you select. To register you confirm that you:
Your regulator decides whether and when you can write the official exam. Registration requirements such as education, language and practice hours are set by the regulator, not by CCEC.
Choose your province, then your exam and access type, and complete the form including the eligibility declaration. Pay online where a fee applies. Then upload a copy of your government photo ID and proof of your exam booking or exam eligibility using the Mock exam document upload form (the link is in your registration confirmation email), with the same email address you registered with, within 3 days (72 hours). With the province combo, upload proof of booking or eligibility for any one of the exams the combo covers. An unpaid registration is cancelled automatically after 15 minutes; you can register again at any time.
Your details and documents are checked against the eligibility requirements, usually within a few hours if everything is in order. If our Admissions team needs anything else, you are told exactly what to send and by when. If not approved, you are told why and any fee paid is refunded in full by the same payment method within 2 to 3 business days.
Your access email brings the link to your mock exam pages, your access code and your access end date. Log in to the College learning portal and start with the diagnostic.
Work through the area quizzes for your weakest areas, then sit the mock exams under exam conditions. Your result shows on screen as soon as you finish each test. Online students must meet the College System Requirements.
Exam details on this page were checked on official pages between 31 October and 2 November 2026. Always confirm current exam rules, fees and dates with your regulator and the exam provider.
Eligibility follows the published requirements of the regulator or examining body for the exam you select. Every registration is assessed using the details, photo ID and exam booking or eligibility proof you submit. A free registration with missing details is cancelled and you may register again with complete details. A paid registration with missing details is held and you are told exactly what to send; if nothing is received within 3 days (72 hours) the registration is not approved.
If a paid registration is not approved, the fee is refunded in full by the same payment method within 2 to 3 business days. Once access has been granted, fees are non-refundable. Free Diagnostic Access has no fee. Fees for the official exams are paid to the exam provider or regulator, not to CCEC.
Free Diagnostic Access runs for one week from approval. Standard Access runs for 30 days from approval, or until your exam date if that comes first. Full Access and the province combo run from approval until your exam date.
Each diagnostic allows one attempt. Area quizzes can be repeated as often as you like during your access period. Each mock exam allows four attempts with Standard Access and eight with Full Access. Every quiz answer has an explanation, and your score with a breakdown by exam area is shown on screen as soon as you finish each test.
Your access code and access pages are issued to the person named at registration and work only with the email address you registered with. One registration per person per option; a different option is a new registration on the same event page.
Results are mock exam results from CCEC's own question bank. They are not recognized by, or reported to, any regulator or examining body. Completing a mock exam course does not qualify you for registration or a licence.
Questions about registration, access or results go through the support form; please allow 24 to 48 business hours for a response. College email comes only from @ccecollege.online, @ccecollege.com, or @cancollege.online.
The CCEC guarantee applies to Full Access and the province combo. If you do not pass the official exam on your first attempt, you can have one further access period to the same option, until your new exam date, at no charge. Send your official result notice and your new exam date through the support form. This is not a cash refund, and CCEC does not guarantee an exam result.
