How to Choose
● Goal: Decide if you need basic home knowledge or entry-level trade skills.
● Formats: 100% Online, Hybrid, or In-Person.
✔ In-person. From our campus in Vaughan, Ontario. In-person instructor-led classes with hands-on labs and practical training.
✔ Hybrid is a mix of online and in-person attendance.
✔ 100% Online, is self-paced, instructor-led—no in-person attendance required. Our self-directed online classes use a learning management system (LMS) and offer real-time online teacher support. Complete details/tutorial about the LMS and program delivery will be available to all students before the program starts.
Exams and assessments:
● Regardless of your selected format, all written exams are 100% online and open-book.
● The training part, which requires hands-on or practical assessment, depends on the format.
If you have selected 100% online format, practical will be completed by way of online instructor-monitored/directed assessments.
Please read before enrolling:
Educational Credential: The Can-College Certificate in Home Inspection / Professional Certificate in AI-Enhanced Home Inspection is an educational credential. It confirms the successful completion of the academic and technical training outlined in the program curriculum. It is not a government-issued license to practice.
Ontario Regulations: Currently, the home inspection profession in Ontario is self-regulated. While the Ontario government passed the Home Inspection Act, 2017, it has not yet been proclaimed into force. Therefore, there is currently no mandatory provincial government license required to operate as a home inspector in Ontario.
Professional Associations & Designations: To maximize employability and client trust, graduates are strongly encouraged to join recognized industry associations, such as the Ontario Association of Home Inspectors (OAHI), the Canadian Association of Home & Property Inspectors (CAHPI), or Inter NACHI. Please note that earning specific professional designations (such as a Registered Home Inspector - RHI) may require additional steps beyond this educational program, including supervised field inspections, peer reviews, and background checks as dictated by the respective association.
Out-of-Province & International Applicants: Licensing and regulatory requirements for home inspectors vary significantly by jurisdiction. For example, provinces like British Columbia and Alberta strictly mandate government licensing. International and out-of-province applicants are solely responsible for verifying the specific licensing, certification, and business registration requirements in their local region prior to enrollment.
For International Applicants:
Immigration Status: This program does not require a formal Study Permit or Student Visa due to its service type, duration (under 6 months), and structure.
Provincial Attestation Letter (PAL): A Provincial Attestation Letter (PAL) is not required to study in this program.
Note: Completion of this short-term certificate does not qualify international students for a Post-Graduation Work Permit (PGWP) in Canada. Applicants are responsible for ensuring their current visa or visitor status allows for short-term study.
Employment & Admissions Guarantee:
Canadian Career Education College does not guarantee employment or specific salary outcomes for any student who successfully completes this program. Meeting the minimum admission requirements is not a guarantee of admission, and course completion does not guarantee job placement in the construction industry.
Format & Attendance:
In-Class (Vaughan Campus): Attendance requirements are outlined in the course syllabus. Failure to adhere to minimum attendance policies may affect certification.
Online/Distance Learning: Students are responsible for maintaining their own self-study schedules. Once the online program materials are delivered, Can College is not responsible for the student's further educational activity regarding time management.
